Glanbia PLC 11 October 2000 Ned Sullivan to leave Glanbia next June John Moloney named as Successor The Chairman of Glanbia plc, Tom Corcoran, today announced that Ned Sullivan, Group Managing Director, has decided to leave the Company next June. 'Ned has made a major contribution to Glanbia by putting in place the strategy and structures to focus the Group for the future. Important initiatives to address the challenges currently confronting the Group will be well advanced by June 2001. With this in mind, he has decided that now is an appropriate time to announce his intention to step down at that point. 'It is with great regret that the Board has accepted Ned's decision. We wish him well in his future career and thank him for the clear focus, great energy and superb management skills, which he brought to Glanbia. We are pleased that Ned has agreed to remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director until the end of December 2001,' said Mr. Corcoran. The Board has appointed John Moloney, Chief Executive of the Food Ingredients Division, to succeed Ned Sullivan. He has been appointed Deputy Group Managing Director with immediate effect. 'John has outstanding business skills and a proven track record in the food industry. Within the Group he has held top positions in Agribusiness and Food Ingredients and was a key player in the expansion of Glanbia's interests in the USA. He also brings extensive experience in managing relations with both shareholders and supplier groups. These skills and experience equip him to lead Glanbia in the years ahead,' said Mr. Corcoran. Billy Murphy, Chief Executive of Consumer Foods Ireland, will be appointed Deputy Group Managing Director of Glanbia when John Moloney takes over as Group Managing Director next June. Commenting on his decision to step down as Group Managing Director, Mr. Sullivan said, 'The Board of Glanbia has embraced a strategy which will ensure that the organisation will successfully meet the profound changes which are taking place in many of the sectors and markets in which it operates.
