Glanbia plc, (the 'Company') the global performance nutrition and ingredients group, wishes to announce that John Callaghan has today informed the Board that he plans to retire as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee with effect from 1 December 2014.  The Board are pleased to announce that with effect from that date Dan O'Connor will join the Board as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee, and current Non-Executive Director, Paul Haran will assume the position of Senior Independent Director.

Dan O'Connor, aged 54, is a Non-Executive Director of CRH plc and is a former President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Consumer Finance - Europe and a former Senior Vice-President of GE. He was Executive Chairman of Allied Irish Banks plc from November 2009 until October 2010.  A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Mr. O'Connor graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Commerce and Masters in Professional Accounting.

Paul Haran brings extensive experience to his new role as Senior Independent Director having been a Non-Executive Director of the Company since 2005 and chairman of Edward Dillon & Co. He is also a Director of a number of companies including the Mater Private Hospital and Insurance Ireland.

Commenting today, Mr. Liam Herlihy, Chairman, Glanbia plc said:

Mr. O'Connor has notified the Company that he has no details (save as disclosed herein) to be disclosed as required under Paragraph 6.6.7, Chapter 6 of the Irish Listing Rules and Paragraph 9.6.13, Chapter 9 of the UK Listing Rules.
