The Board of Glanbia plc, the international cheese and nutritional ingredients Group, today appointed Mr Martin Keane as Vice-Chairman.  Mr Keane succeeds Mr John Gerald Fitzgerald, who has retired as Vice-Chairman and Director of the Company.  Mr Keane has also been appointed Vice-Chairman of Glanbia Co-operative Society Limited. 

Mr Keane was appointed to the Board in 2006. He is a Chairman of Donaghmore Famine Work House and Agricultural Museum Co-operative Society Limited and farms at Errill, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Mr Herlihy continues as Chairman and Mr Victor Quinlan continues in his role as Vice-Chairman of the Board.

 

The Board of Glanbia plc also announces the appointment of three new non-executive Directors, Mr Michael Keane, Mr. John Murphy and Mr. Brendan Hayes and the retirement of Mr. Christopher Hill and Mr Nicholas Dunphy as Directors.

 

Messrs Keane, Murphy and Hayes are all farmers and Directors of Glanbia Co-operative Society Limited. Mr Keane farms at Foxhall, Ballinamona, Ardmore Via Youghal, Co. Waterford, Mr. Murphy farms at Ballinacoola, Craanford, Gorey, Co. Wexford and Mr Hayes farms at Ballyquinn, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Waterford.

 

Messrs Keane, Murphy and Hayes have notified the Company that they have no details to be disclosed as required under Paragraph 6.6.7, Chapter 6 of the Irish Listing Rules and Paragraph 9.6.13, Chapter 9 of the UK Listing Rules.

 

Mr Michael Keane has today on his appointment notified the Company, pursuant to Section 53 of the Companies Act, 1990 as extended by Section 64 of the Companies Act 1990, that he is interested in 22,104 ordinary shares of €0.06 each in Glanbia plc.

 

Mr Hayes has today on his appointment notified the Company, pursuant to Section 53 of the Companies Act, 1990 as extended by Section 64 of the Companies Act 1990, that he is interested in 18,920 ordinary shares of €0.06 each in Glanbia plc.

 

Mr Murphy has today on his appointment notified the Company, pursuant to Section 53 of the Companies Act, 1990 as extended by Section 64 of the Companies Act 1990, that he is interested in 4,000 ordinary shares of €0.06 each in Glanbia plc.
