A QUARTER CENTURY OF DIVIDEND INCREASES - GE BOARD RAISES DIVIDEND PAYMENT 17%
FAIRFIELD, CONN. - 15 December 2000 - GE's Board of Directors today voted to
increase the Company's quarterly dividend 17% to 16 cents per share, GE
Chairman and CEO John F. Welch announced.
The increase from 13 and two-thirds cents per share marks the 25th consecutive
year of increased dividends by GE.
'This dividend increase reflects a great performance by GE in 2000 as well as
our confidence that 2001 will be another record year,' Mr. Welch said.
The dividend declared today is payable on 25 January 2001 to share owners of
record at the close of business on 29 December 2000. The ex-dividend date is
27 December 2000.
