Glencar Commences Drilling

Glencar Mining PLC 11 December 2003 Glencar Mining plc ('Glencar' or 'the Company') Glencar Commences Drilling at Asheba Project, Ghana Glencar is pleased to announce the commencement of a drilling programme at its Asheba project in Ghana. Drilling started today, Thursday, and the initial short phase of the programme is expected to be completed before Christmas. This phase of the programme will be directed to the Atinasi North and Tanaya prospects, part of the recently extended and now 3 km long Atinasi-Tanaya mineralised trend within the concession area. Drilling will be carried out initially by RAB method and will involve the completion of some 50 holes to approximate depth of 30 metres. There has been no previous drilling on these prospects and the current shallow first pass drilling programme is designed to test the extent of the mapped mineralised structures at each prospect. A second phase drilling programme, is planned for the first quarter of 2004 to incorporate deeper drilling at the Atinasi and Tanaya targets. Results of the current phase of drilling are expected in January.
