Games Workshop Group PLC ('the Company')


The Company received notification on 3 May 2001 that Schroder Investment
Management Limited ('SIML'), have an interest in  3,388,492 Ordinary Shares
which are held in portfolios managed on a discretionary basis for clients of
SIML under investment management agreements.


SIML's aggregate interest represents 11.014% of the Company's issued share
capital.


Included in this figure are:-


(i)   2,608,492 Ordinary Shares held in (a) unit trust(s) operated and managed
      by another wholly-owned subsidiary nominee company, Schroder Unit Trusts
      Limited, and registered or to be registered in the name of Chase Nominees
      Limited; and

(ii)  400,000 Ordinary Shares registered or to be registered in the name of
      Imperial Tobacco Pension Fund; and

(iii) 380,000 Ordinary Shares registered or to be registered in the name of
      Strathclyde Pension Fund.




An affiliated company, Schroder Investment Management North America Inc, is
managing (a) portfolio(s) on a similar basis to the above holding a further
369,800 Ordinary Shares registered or to be registered in the name of Chase
Nominees Limited.



Another affiliated company, Schroder Hermes, is managing 39,915 Ordinary
Shares in (a) portfolio(s) on a passive (index tracker) basis for clients
under investment management agreements. These Ordinary Shares are registered
or to be registered in the name of Chase Nominees Limited.



SIML and their affiliated companies are therefore interested in 3,798,207
Ordinary Shares in aggregate, representing 12.1% of the Company's issued share
capital.
