GAMES WORKSHOP GROUP PLC ('the Company')



The Company received notification on 28 June 2001 that Schroder Investment
Management Limited ('SIML'), have an interest in 3,859,068 Ordinary Shares
which are held in portfolios managed on a discretionary basis for clients of
SIML under investment management agreements.

SIML's aggregate interest represents 12.33% of the Company's issued share
capital.


Included in this figure are:-



(i)  2,927,134 Ordinary Shares held in (a) unit trust(s)
     operated and managed by another wholly-owned subsidiary nominee company,
     Schroder Unit Trusts Limited, and registered or to be registered in the    
     name of Chase Nominees Limited; and



(ii) 500,000 Ordinary Shares registered or to be registered in the name of      
     Imperial Tobacco Pension Fund;



(iii)380,000 Ordinary Shares registered or to be registered in the name of      
     Nortrust Nominees Limited; and



(iv) 51,934 Ordinary Shares registered or to be registered in the name of Chase 
     Nominees Limited.



An affiliated company, Schroder Investment Management North America Inc, is
managing (a) portfolio(s) on a similar basis to the above holding a further
750,000 Ordinary Shares registered or to be registered in the name of Chase
Nominees Limited.



SIML and their affiliated companies are therefore interested in 4,609,068
Ordinary Shares in aggregate, representing 14.72% of the Company's issued
share capital.
