Games Workshop Group PLC ('the Company')



The Company received notification on 18 May 2001 that, following the sale of
330,200 Ordinary Shares of 5p each on 16 May 2001 AMVESCAP PLC (and subsidiary
companies on behalf of discretionary clients) have an interest in 3,507,927
Ordinary Shares representing 11.2% of the issued share capital of the Company.


The details of this interest, together with a breakdown between registered
holders are set out below:

None of these shares are beneficially owned by AMVESCAP.  Subsidiary companies
of AMVESCAP have a large number of portfolio management clients for whom they
act as investment manager and investment advisor and by virtue of Section 203
of the Companies Act 1985 AMVESCAP is deemed to have the same interest in the
shares.



The above holding includes the following holdings: INVESCO English and
International Trust plc holds 1,761,205 Ordinary Shares (5.6%) and INVESCO
Perpetual UK Smaller Companies Growth Fund holds 1,139,565 Ordinary Shares
(3.6%).
