GALLIFORD TRY APPOINTED TO £150 MILLION PROGRAMME AT LUTON AND DUNSTABLE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Galliford Try plc, the housebuilding and construction group, announces that it has been appointed as preferred supply chain partner under the ProCure21+ framework to support the £150 million sitewide redevelopment of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.

Work will start immediately to deliver a new £6 million office block which is required to enable delivery of the main works.

The main programme, which will complete in 2019 includes a new £80 million 'Hot Block' for all critical care, surgery and other complex care procedures, replacing several wards and the site's energy centre and completely refurbishing the Emergency Department.  A key element of the scheme is to improve public facilities which includes expanding the car park provision which will improve the patients' experience when at the hospital.

Peter Truscott, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: "This prestigious scheme is one of the largest on the ProCure21+ framework and is a fantastic win for our business.  Galliford Try has a growing presence in the healthcare market and this is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate our capability in delivering complex public sector healthcare projects."
