   NOTIFICATION OF SUBSCRIPTION FOR SHARES BY THE GALLIFORD TRY EMPLOYEE SHARE
                                     TRUST



The Company announces that the Galliford Try Employee Share Trust, which
currently holds 1,832,454 ordinary shares in the Company for the purpose of
satisfying share awards granted under the Galliford Try Restricted Share Plan
and the Executive Long Term Bonus Plan which apply to the Directors, has
subscribed for its full entitlement of 166,857 New Ordinary Shares at an issue
price of 107 pence per share pursuant to the Company's Open Offer which closed
at 11.00am on 28 March 2006.   This will increase the Galliford Try Employee
Share Trust's holding to 1,999,311 ordinary shares in the Company following
admission of the New Ordinary Shares to trading on the London Stock Exchange and
listing on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority becoming effective
(equivalent to 0.0073 per cent of the Company's issued share capital following
admission).
