GALLIFORD TRY PLC

BLOCK LISTING APPLICATION

The  Company  announces that it has today applied  for  a
block listing application of 9,601,202 Ordinary Shares in
respect  of  the  following  share  schemes;  Try   Group
Executive  Share Option Scheme; Galliford Try  Restricted
Share Plan and the Try Group Restricted Share Plan.

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and
the  London  Stock Exchange plc for these  shares  to  be
admitted  to  the  Official List  and  the  London  Stock
Exchange's market for listed securities.

The application is expected to become effective on 4 June
2001.
