                       GALLIFORD TRY PLC (THE 'COMPANY')

                            BLOCKLISTING APPLICATION

An application has been made by the Company to the UK Listing Authority and
London Stock Exchange plc for a blocklisting of 9 million ordinary shares of
0.05p each in the Company to trade on London Stock Exchange's market for listed
securities and to be admitted to the Official List upon issuance. The shares may
be issued upon exercise of options granted under the Company's Savings Related
Share Option Scheme. When issued these shares will rank pari passu with existing
issued shares of the Company. Admission is expected to occur on 19 December
2006.
