CEO Resigns

Future PLC 06 June 2006 6 June 2006 Future plc Greg Ingham announces decision to step down as Chief Executive Future, the international special-interest media group, announces today that Greg Ingham has decided to step down as Chief Executive and a director of the Company with effect from today. He will be succeeded by Ms Stevie Spring from 3 July 2006 and will be working closely with her over the coming month to ensure a smooth transition. Greg has agreed to remain available to the new Chief Executive and the Board in an advisory capacity. Roger Parry, Chairman of Future, said, 'It is of course difficult to announce the departure of someone who has been so closely involved with the business over the past 18 years, but we understand and respect Greg's decision to move on. I am pleased that we have been able to manage an orderly succession. 'When Greg joined Future it had just five magazines, 40 employees and £3m turnover. Today it has over 150 magazines, over 1,400 staff and over £200m of sales. He leaves Future as a substantially bigger and stronger business, with some tremendous market positions and opportunities. I know he will be greatly missed by his colleagues and friends at Future, but we are pleased that he has agreed to remain involved with the business and wish him well for the future.' Commenting on his decision to step down, Greg Ingham said, 'I have been at Future since 1988, first as publisher, then as MD, and have been chief exec since 1998. That's a long stretch in one company. I wish now to do something different in my business life and to broaden my experiences. I am sure this is the right decision, both for me and the business. 'Future has been a huge, all-consuming part of my life. It'll be a wrench to leave behind so many talented people and great friends. I wish them and the whole company the very best of fortunes. I have great confidence in the business and will remain a huge supporter from the sidelines. 'I would like to welcome Stevie as Future's new chief executive. She is a great choice and I wish her every success for the future.' Future has today also announced its Interim Results for the six months ended 31st March 2006.
