Transaction in Own Shares



Sports Direct International Plc ("Sports Direct") yesterday acquired through
Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Ltd 13,675,163 of its ordinary shares at an
average price of 144 pence per ordinary share.  The purchased shares will all be
held as treasury shares.



Following the above purchase, Sports Direct holds 32,150,163 ordinary shares as
treasury shares.  The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares
held as treasury shares) is 687,849,837.
