Board Appointment

On 31 March 2011, the Board of Sports Direct International plc ("Sports Direct" or "the Company") agreed the appointment of Charles McCreevy as Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Mr McCreevy currently holds a Non-Executive Director position at Ryanair Holdings plc.  Mr McCreevy is an Irish citizen and highly experienced politician.  He most recently served as EU Commissioner for Internal Markets and Services (2004-2010) and has held positions in several Irish Government Ministerial Offices, including Minister for Finance (1997-2004), Minister for Tourism & Trade (1993-1994) and Minister for Social Welfare (1992-1993).

Dr Keith Hellawell, Non-Executive Chairman of Sports Direct said:

"We are very pleased to welcome Charles to the Board of Sports Direct.  His experience in business and as European Commissioner for Internal Markets and Services will be a great asset to Sports Direct as the Company continues to execute its strategic growth plans."
