Sports Direct International plc was notified on 2 March 2007 by Michael James
Wallace Ashley ('Mike Ashley'), in fulfilment of obligations imposed by the
Financial Services Authority in accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule
5 that, on 2 March 2007 following the Company's initial public offering, Mike
Ashley was interested in 363,960,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in Sports
Direct International plc representing 54.04% of the issued share capital of the
Sports Direct International plc.
