New Senior Management Appointments
James Fisher, the leading marine service provider, today announces two new
senior management appointments. Nick Henry becomes Managing Director of James
Fisher Tankships Limited and John Hudson Technical Director of James Fisher
(Shipping Services) Limited.
Nick Henry (41) comes to James Fisher Tankships from P&O where he was
Organisational Efficiency Director of P&O Ports. Prior to that, Nick was at P&O
Nedlloyd where he was one of its most successful younger managers, being
responsible at various times for the P&O Swire trades, the introduction of new
IT systems and international container management, a job he held in his
twenties. Nick's appointment confirms the importance to James Fisher of its
Tankships operation which, in 2001, made a profit contribution of more than £7m.
John Hudson (43) will shortly join the Shipping Services division from BAE
Systems Marine where he has been Engineering Director for their Clydeside and
Barrow shipyards. In this role he has successfully led one of the country's
largest ship design team with responsibility for a number of warship designs. He
has played a significant role in the selective introduction of commercial
standards into warship design. In addition John was responsible for the design
of three 4,500 deadweight tankers built at the Barrow yard for James Fisher in
1997. Prior to this was a period with Lloyds Register of Shipping in their
Technical Investigations and Rule Development departments. John's appointment is
consistent with the company's technical base and strengthens the company in this
area as it expands.
Tim Harris, Chairman of James Fisher, commented:
'I am delighted that we have been able to attract two such young high calibre
managers. Their appointments are part of James Fisher's aim to expand its marine
service operations aggressively but based on a sound managerial foundation'.
