Fisher (James) & Sons PLC 3 May 2000 James Fisher Acquires Larger Premises for Expanding Aberdeen Operations Leading specialist shipping group James Fisher and Sons has acquired new premises for its expanding operations in Aberdeen. Co-located since 1998, subsidiaries James Fisher (Underwater Engineering Services) Limited (UES) and James Fisher and Sons (Seafloor Dynamex) Limited, both providers of supply services to the offshore oil industry, are to move to a larger location during the next two months. Seafloor Dynamex provides specialist sub-sea excavation equipment and expertise using a unique excavating tool developed in-house. UES supplies a range of plant, equipment and engineering services to the offshore industry both in the North Sea and world-wide. Commenting, David Cobb, Chairman of the James Fisher group, said: 'Having come through a period of depressed activity in the offshore market these companies are now seeing a recovery. This tripling of our capacity gives us the perfect springboard for growth. There are distinct signs of an improving demand out there and we intend to meet it.' James Fisher is the UK's largest operator of small to medium sized clean product tankers and from its headquarters in Barrow-in-Furness manages a fleet of 38 specialist vessels.
