REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES

The Board of Finsbury Growth Trust PLC announces that on 7 November 2000 the
Company repurchased for cancellation 50,000 of the Company's ordinary shares of
25p, representing 0.13% of the issued ordinary share capital, at a price of
207.5p per share.

To date the Company has repurchased a total of 7,143,570 ordinary shares,
representing 15.5% of the original issued ordinary share capital.  There are
38,856,430 ordinary shares remaining in issue.
