REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES

The Board of Finsbury Growth Trust PLC announces that on 15 December 1999, the
Company repurchased for cancellation 444,500 of the Company's ordinary shares of
25p, representing 1.0% of the issued ordinary share capital, at a price of
195.75p per share.

Following this repurchase, the Company has 45,190,500 ordinary shares in issue.
The Company has to date repurchased 1,049,500 ordinary shares, representing 2.3%
of the issued ordinary share capital.
