REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES 

The Board of Finsbury Growth Trust PLC announces that on 27 September 1999, the
Company repurchased for cancellation 250,000 of the Company's ordinary shares of
25p, representing 0.55% of the issued ordinary share capital, at a price of
179.0p per share.

Following this repurchase, the Company has 45,500,000 ordinary shares in issue. 
The Company has to date repurchased 500,000 ordinary shares, representing 1.09%
of the issued ordinary share capital.
