FINAL DIVIDEND

The Directors of the Company announce that they are recommending a final
dividend for the year ended 30 September 1999 of 2.80p per share (1998: 2.55p)
to be paid on 23 December 1999 to shareholders on the register at the close of
business on 3 December 1999. Together with the interim dividend paid in March,
this makes an increased distribution for the year of 4.0p per share
(1998:3.75p).
