Statement re Share Price Movement

BGR plc  ('the Company')

The Directors note the rise in the Company's share price today.  The
Company is expecting to announce its intention to demerge Crestport
Limited (BGR's IT division which trades as 'Bank Solutions'), when it
publishes its Preliminary Results for the year ended 30 October 1999,
shortly.

Further details of the proposed demerger will be given at that time.
