Statement re Press Comment

                      BGR plc  ('BGR')

Pursuant to press comment over the weekend, BGR confirms
that  it  is in  discussions  with a private consortium
interested  in  purchasing BGR's  Signature Restaurants 
at a price which the directors  consider would be attractive 
to shareholders.

It  is too early to say whether this approach will lead to a
sale  of the  Signature restaurants and a further
announcement  will  be  made when appropriate.

Note:
The  Signature Restaurants comprise Bank (Aldwych), Bank
(Birmingham) and Zander.
