Possible Offer for Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company PLC


The Board of FIH notes today's press speculation and confirms that it is
considering the possibility of making an offer for all the shares in Portsmouth
Harbour Ferry Company that it does not already own.  FIH intends to approach the
Board and advisers of Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company in due course to seek a
recommendation.
