In accordance with the amendments to the Listing Rules which take effect from
1st April, 2005, the Board of Genesis Emerging Markets Fund Limited announce
that with immediate effect Mr Jeremy Paulson-Ellis is stepping down as Chairman,
but will remain a Director of the Company.  He has been replaced as Chairman by
Mr Coen Teulings.
