Dividend Notification Declaration

LETTER TO:  COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENTS OFFICE

This is to advise you that the Board of Directors of Ford Motor Company at a
meeting held today declared dividends of 50 cents per share on the Company's
outstanding Class B Stock and Common Stock and $0.515625 a share on the
depositary shares representing its Series B Cumulative Preferred Stock ('Series
B Preferred'), payable September 1, 2000 to stockholders of record on July 26,
2000.

The amounts of the dividends on the Class B and Common Stock and on the Series B
Preferred are the same as the amounts of the dividends paid thereon in the
second quarter of 2000.
