First Derivatives Plc ('the Company') announces that on 18 October 2006 the
spouse of David Anderson, non-executive chairman, purchased 2,000 ordinary
shares in the Company at a price of 136 pence per share.

This takes Mr. Anderson's beneficial holding to 128,800 ordinary shares
representing 1 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital.
