FBD Holdings plc ('FBD') received notification on 21st January, 2005 that Bank
of Ireland Asset Management Limited has a notifiable interest of  5,021,217
ordinary shares in the capital of FBD representing 11.98 per cent of its issued
share capital (inclusive of treasury shares). The shares are held on behalf of a
range of clients who are each the beneficial owner of a portion of the
shareholding. A breakdown of that interest between registered holders as
