Appointment of Director

FBD Holdings plc ('FBD') is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Sean 
Dorgan, as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2008.   In 
addition Mr. Dorgan will join the Audit Committee of the Board.

Mr. Dorgan is the Chief Executive of the IDA Ireland (the Industrial 
Development Agency) and is retiring, after nine years in the role, at the end 
of December 2007.  In addition, Mr. Dorgan has been a Board Member of Forfas, 
Ireland's national policy and advisory board for enterprise, trade, science, 
technology and innovation, and he is Chairperson of the Governing Body of the 
Dublin Institute of Technology.

Mr. Dorgan is a former Secretary General of both the Department of Industry 
and Commerce and the Department of Tourism and Trade and held other leadership 
roles in various State and Private bodies throughout his career.
