                      Fusion Appoints Technical Manager


Fusion is an international oil and gas exploration company, with extensive
interests in deepwater West Africa, comprising 9 acreage licences across 7
countries. Fusion listed on AIM in September 2000 and is currently drilling
the first of two deepwater wells in Mauritania.


Fusion Oil & Gas plc announces today the appointment of Mr Laurie Brown to the
position of Technical Manager. Mr Brown has 19 years international experience
with particular emphasis on deepwater exploration. Prior to joining Fusion he
was Mauritania Exploration Team Leader for Woodside Energy Ltd and prior to
that he was Deepwater Nigeria Technical Leader for the BP/Statoil Alliance. Mr
Brown started his career with BP in the UK in 1982.


Mr Brown will be responsible for co-ordinating Fusions exploration activities.
The Company is currently drilling two deepwater exploration wells in
Mauritania and in May will drill an onshore exploration well in Ghana.

The company also reports the completion of deepwater seismic surveys in
Cameroon (2,000 km in the Ntem permit) and the Senegal Guinea Bissau Common
Zone (1,300 km in the Cheval Marin permit and 1,000 km in the Croix du Sud
permit).
