The eVestment Company Plc ('eVestment')
eVestment enters training market with £1 million
investment
eVestment (www.evestment.co.uk), the Internet and e-
commerce investment company, is pleased to announce that
it has made an investment of £1,000,000 in World of
Training Limited (www.worldoftraining.com), as part of a
£2.5 million fund raising, which was led by eVestment.
World of Training Limited is creating an e-commerce
marketplace for training, bringing together training
providers and users on an individual and corporate level.
Key features of the site include:
* the site contains a wide range of product; training
can be found for subjects as diverse as first aid, IT,
counselling and modern languages
* the website asks for people's requirements and,
using a sophisticated search engine, matches them with a
suitable training programme
* people unsure of what training they need can sit a
psychometric test on the website, which will suggest
courses to improve the candidate's weaknesses
* clients can read details of each course and a full
description of the skills they will learn; the choice of
course is supported by feedback on from past attendees
* the site stores an electronic training record to
help record the skills individuals have developed on
their courses. This can help keep their CV's updated.
Every course featured on the website can be booked
online, and the service is free to users buying training.
A commission on every place booked on the website goes to
World of Training.
The UK training market is large and diverse and has been
growing steadily over the last few years; it is currently
estimated to have a value in excess of £15bn. The market
drivers are changing technology, increasing legislation,
portfolio careers and the increasing proportion of the
workforce represented by professionals and managers. By
featuring on the website, training organisations have
access to new markets and people they may never have
worked with before.
Chris Roberts, chief executive of eVestment, commented,
'We believe that the World of Training Limited has
pioneered an innovative B2B business model in the UK
training market and we were particularly impressed with
the very strong training background of the directors, who
have an in depth knowledge of the training market.
World of Training has been funded by its founder
directors since formation; these monies will cause it to
consolidate its lead in this growing market.'
