                           The eVestment Company plc

The  board of The eVestment Company Plc ('the Company') notes the recent press
speculation  and  can confirm that the Company is in the  process  of  raising
further  funds  of  up to £10 million in order to provide the  resources  with
which  to  build  up  its  portfolio of interests in Internet  and  e-commerce
related businesses.

Contrary  to  recent press speculation, the Company is not  contemplating  any
'major  deal'.   In  line with its stated strategy the  Company  continues  to
receive  enquiries  from, and to review a range of investment  proposals  from
businesses seeking development capital.
