                      EVC Christows plc ('the Company')


The Company has today been notified by Norwich Union Investment Management
Limited (a subsidiary of CGNU plc) that they are now interested in 22,938,571
ordinary shares of 1p each in the capital of the Company (compared with
20,008,571 shares as previously disclosed in the Company's circular dated 26
October 2000), representing 3.26 per cent of the Company's enlarged issued
share capital following the ordinary offer for Christows Group Limited
becoming unconditional, as announced on 20 November, 2000.

The registered holders of these shares are BNY (Nominees) Limited (330,000
ordinary shares of 1p each) and BNY Norwich Union Nominees Limited (22,608,571
ordinary shares of 1p each).
