                           Appointment of Director


The Evolution Group Plc (the "Group") is pleased to announce that Andrew Umbers
has today been appointed to its Board as an Executive Director.  Andrew Umbers
(aged 42) is the Chief Executive Officer of Evolution Securities Limited, the
Group's investment banking subsidiary.  He was previously a managing director
of Credit Suisse, having joined BZW in 1990.

Martin Gray, the Group's non-executive Chairman, said, "We are delighted to
welcome Andrew to the Board.  We look forward to working with Andrew in growing
our businesses."

Alex Snow, the Group's Chief Executive Officer, said, "We are pleased Andrew 
has accepted the invitation to join the Board.  At this stage of the Group's
expansion, Andrew's contributions will be tremendously valuable."

No further details regarding Andrew Umbers are required to be disclosed to 
comply with Rule 16.4 of the Listing Rules.
