The eVestment Company Plc ('eVestment')
Strategic Stake in Software and E-commerce Application
Provider
eVestment (www.evestment.co.uk), the Internet and e-
commerce investment company, is pleased to announce that
it has undertaken a strategic investment of £1,000,000 in
IT Outpost Limited (www.itoutpost.co.uk). IT Outpost is a
software and Internet application house that develops
technical solutions for a wide range of blue chip and
medium sized companies.
This investment is consistent with eVestment's intention
to take strategic stakes in e-commerce infrastructure
companies that will benefit directly from the enormous
demand from new internet companies for complete end to
end solutions in the e-commerce arena. IT Outpost
consists of a bespoke department developing web based
applications for clients, and a new business to business
service due for release this summer.
The new ebusiness starter kit provides technology
associated with larger companies to SMEs at a fraction of
the cost. The package includes an intranet, extranet,
shopping basket system, SMS & WAP support, voice
recognition (that allows clients to check their site by
telephone), stock management and order fulfilment. Sites
created using the service may be requested in any major
European language. For example, a businessman in Germany
will be able to build his site in German, whilst his
clients request to view the site in French.
IT Outpost provides full hosting and backup, freeing the
business user from the worry and expense of running their
own site. The Company has the technology to clear
credit/debit cards through a proprietary card clearing
facility, which will enable it to deliver complete
ecommerce solutions.
The package will be available for a low monthly fee, with
step-by-step instructions for beginners. As new
applications and plug-ins are developed, they will be
made available to subscribers without the need for any
changes to their existing site.
IT Outpost aims to level the technology playing field
between large and small companies.
