EUROPEAN MOTOR HOLDINGS PLC (the "Company")

Holding in Company

The Company received notification on 3 March 2005 that as at the close of
business on 1 March 2005, UBS AG, acting through various of UBS AG's business
groups and legal entities, had a material interest in 7,755,768 ordinary shares
in the Company representing 14.55 per cent of the issued share capital of that
class and a non material interest in 1,084,887 ordinary shares, resulting in a
total of 8,840,655 ordinary shares representing 16.59 per cent of the issued
share capital of that class.

Of the material interest disclosed above, 3,081,922 ordinary shares representing
5.78 per cent of the Company's issued share capital are held by UBS Global Asset
Management Life Limited, and 4,673,846 ordinary shares representing 8.76 per
cent of the Company's issued share capital are held by UBS AG London Branch.
