NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTERESTS IN SHARES



European Motor Holdings plc has been advised that the following transactions
in its ordinary share capital took place on 14 June 2001:

*        J O Hambro Capital Management Limited and North Atlantic Smaller
Companies Investment Trust PLC (acting in concert) sold their entire holding
of shares, previously notified as 6,600,000 shares, representing 12.27% of the
total issued share capital; and

*        Zurich Financial Services and its group acquired a notifiable
interest of 2,874,348 shares, representing 5.34% of the total issued share
capital.
