European Assets Trust announces that the dividend of Euro 0.02 per share for
August 2003 will be paid on 27 August 2003 to shareholders on the register on 15
August 2003, having an ex-dividend date of 13 August 2003.

Dutch withholding tax does not apply to this August dividend payment.
