Drilling Results

Eurasia Mining PLC 10 October 2000 * BARONSKOYE DRILLING SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED * DRILLING BEGINS AT SOLOVIEV HILL * PROGRESS ON AMPLATS JOINT VENTURE * The initial drilling programme at Baronskoye has been successfully completed. On receipt of all assays from the Canadian laboratory a full assessment of the programme will be completed from which the next campaign at Baronskoye will be planned. * The company's own multi-purpose drilling rig has now been relocated to the second of the Eurasia platinum targets at Soloviev Hill where the layered dunite ultramafic complex is already established as a significant source of platinum. * The third phase of Eurasia's year 2000 exploration activities is the joint venture with Amplats on the significant platinum alluvials and tailings in the region. Considerable progress has been achieved and the next stage is currently being reviewed. The internationally recognised, high-grade placer field in the Vissim District of the Central Urals, surrounding Soloviev Hill, yielded in excess of 160 tonnes of platinum from placer mining during the 19th Century. Indeed several bonanza grade hard rock occurrences were also mined at Soloviev Hill particularly at the Godspodskaya mine in the North West of the Soloviev Hill licence area where several tonnes of platinum were won from a small chromite pipe. The mineralisation at Soloviev Hill comprises coarse-grained ferro-platinum with chromite. Due to its course grain size both gravity and magnetic methods readily and easily recover the platinum. This characteristic lends itself to low capital and operating costs over a range of plant size options. Eurasia's work at Soloviev Hill has to date consisted of surface mapping and sampling, magnetometer surveys and drilling. This work has identified a prospective bulk mineable, low grade platinum resource at Alexandrinskoye in the south of the Production Licence area. A potential new ore zone has been identified 30 metres to the south of Alexandrinskoye (composite sample grade from outcrop sampling 6.13g/t platinum). Drilling has also intersected extentions to the Winze M-441 Chromite Pipe, at Krutoi Log/1.0 metre @ 23.8g/t platinum). Significantly, surface mapping has also recently confirmed, in the southern portion of the Vissim Exploration Licence Area, extensive occurrences of the similar rock units which host the Baronskoye deposit. The objective of the next phase of drilling is for mineable ore reserves by shallow holes at Alexandrinskoye and Alexandrinskoye South. Deeper drilling is planned later at Krutoi Log. The scope to drill for additional Baronskoye type palladium-gold targets will be determined based on the outcomes of recently completed geochemical sampling. At Soloviev Hill Eurasia has a 59% interest in its Russian subsidiary OAO Chromite which holds in the production licence covering the core of the platiniferous chromite mineralisation. The company additionally holds a 75% interest in the large (157 square kilometre) area surrounding Soloviev Hill, known as the Vissim Exploration Licence Area. Mr Andrew Counsell said 'We look forward with optimism to reviewing the remaining Baronskoye drilling results and successfully completing our three phase exploration programme for this year.'
