Drilling Report

Eurasia Mining PLC 6 September 2001 PRESS RELEASE EURASIA ANNOUNCES START OF DRILLING ON SOSVINSKY PLATINUM PROJECT Eurasia Mining plc is pleased to announce that the drilling programme on the Sosvinsky alluvial platinum project in the Urals region of Russia has started. The Sosvinsky project forms part of the Urals Platinum Project, a 50-50 joint venture between Eurasia Mining and Anglo American Platinum Ltd, the world's largest platinum producer. The programme is designed to give a definitive and rapid test of a major basin at the confluence of the Sosvar and Sharp Rivers downstream from an area where platinum has previously been commercially mined. Alluvial platinum has been panned by Eurasia from that part of the Sosvar River, which lies to one side of the basin now being drilled. The target is based on the concept that the basin would have acted as a trap site for the heavy platinum over the time that the basin was being filled. This basin which has been defined on the basis of geomorphology and seismic traverses has not been previously explored or mined. It contains in excess of 100 million cubic metres of alluvial material. If a significant portion of this is confirmed to contain economic concentrations of platinum then this prospect alone would be capable of supporting a major dredging operation. The Sosvinsky basin is being drilled using a contract rig designed to collect large-volume samples in a way that will allow precise assessments of the depth, thickness and grade of the potentially platinum bearing units. On completion of the first phase of the programme, which is expected in October, the rig will be moved to test the Vissim alluvial project which is located approximately 300 kilometres to the south, and is also part of the Urals Platinum Project. Additional testing will take place during winter when the swampy areas become accessible. Dr Michael Martineau, Executive Deputy Chairman, said: 'The Sosvinsky project is the first of at least four alluvial targets that Eurasia's joint venture has already identified and plans to test. The Sosvar drilling is an example of the fast track exploration approach that the new Eurasia is adopting on all its projects. This target will have been definitively drill tested less than six months after the licence was awarded. Success on any one of the targets would lead to the immediate transition into the feasibility stage evaluation as an advanced project.' 6 September 2001
