APPOINTMENT OF TWO NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

The Board of Essentra plc ("Essentra" or "the Company") today announces the appointment of two Non-Executive Directors, both of which take effect from 1 July 2013.

Lorraine Trainer is currently a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee at Jupiter Fund Management plc, and a member of their Audit and Nomination Committees. She also served on the Board of Aegis Group plc for eight years where she was latterly Chairman of their Remuneration Committee, coming off that Board in March 2013 on the sale of the company to Dentsu.  Lorraine began her executive career at Citibank, and had some 20 years' experience in Human Resources at such blue-chip companies as the London Stock Exchange and Coutts NatWest Group.  She currently combines her Board work with consultancy at and around Board level in Director development.

Peter Hill, CBE, is Chairman of the speciality chemicals company Alent plc, where he also chairs the Nominations Committee. Peter was previously Chief Executive of Laird PLC, a leading global electronics and technology company.  Before joining Laird plc in 2001, Peter worked for BTR plc - subsequently Invensys plc - in a variety of increasingly senior operational and strategic development roles, prior to which he held positions at such companies as Costain Group plc, Consolidated Gold Fields plc and Rio Tinto plc.  For over 20 years, Peter has also served on a number of Boards, ranging from Oxford Instruments plc to UK Trade & Investment.

In accordance with Listing Rules 9.6.13 (1), Lorraine Trainer has advised that she is a current Director of Jupiter Fund Management plc and a former Director of Aegis Group plc.

In accordance with Listing Rules 9.6.13 (1), Peter Hill has advised that he is a current Director of Alent plc and a former Director of Cookson Group plc, Meggitt PLC and Laird PLC.

Both Lorraine Trainer and Peter Hill confirm that there are no other details to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 (2) to (6).

As at the date of this announcement, neither Lorraine Trainer nor Peter Hill has any interest in the ordinary shares of Essentra.
