Alan joined Filtrona on the Company's demerger from Bunzl in 2005 and has played a key role on firstly the Group Executive Committee and latterly the Group Management Committee in re-shaping the Company's organisation and people.  This has included developing Filtrona's graduate and management training programmes and overseeing a significant improvement in the Company's Health, Safety and Environment performance.

Commenting on today's announcement, Colin Day, Chief Executive, said: "On behalf of the Board and the Group Management Committee, I would like to thank Alan for his personal contribution to Filtrona's successful development over the past eight years.  His considerable experience and wise counsel will be missed, and we wish him a long and enjoyable retirement when it eventually comes next year."
