Directorate Change

Filtrona plc ('Filtrona' or 'the Company') today announces the appointment of Colin Day as successor to Mark Harper as Chief Executive of the Company.

Colin, who is currently an Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer at Reckitt Benckiser Group plc, where he has held those roles since 2000, and also a Non-executive Director at WPP Group plc and AMEC plc, will join Filtrona as Chief Executive with effect from 1 April 2011.

Mark will stand down from the Board at the Company's Annual General Meeting on 14 April 2011. After 25 years service, and having led Filtrona for eight years, the last five since the Company's public listing in June 2005, Mark has decided to retire from the Company in May 2011.

Jeff Harris, Chairman of Filtrona, commented:

'The Filtrona Board is delighted to welcome Colin Day as the Company's next Chief Executive. Colin has played a major role in the success of Reckitt Benckiser during his time there and he has established an outstanding reputation for delivering international growth. The Board believes Colin's extensive experience, combined with his commitment and enthusiasm for new opportunities, will drive the execution of the Company's well-established strategy and provide further impetus to Filtrona's continued strong financial performance.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Mark for the huge commitment and contribution that he has made to Filtrona over many years. Mark is determined to ensure that the transition to his successor is conducted smoothly and in the coming months he will be working closely with the Board on the handover of his responsibilities. Mark will leave Filtrona with the best wishes of all those who have worked with him. '

Colin Day commented:

'I am delighted to be joining Filtrona at this exciting time for the Company's future development.  During 2010, Filtrona has demonstrated its ability to return to growth, after its resilient performance against the recessionary conditions which had been experienced during the previous year, and I am looking forward to devoting my energies to the challenge of maximising every opportunity to secure further value for the benefit of the Company's shareholders.'
