SSI & Enterprise Sign IT Outsourcing Contract

Enterprise Oil PLC 7 December 1999 Enterprise Oil and SSI sign IT outsourcing contract Enterprise Oil and Shell Services International (SSI) today signed an agreement for the outsourcing of Enterprise's UK IT services. SSI will provide IT infrastructure and telecommunications services from its bases in Wythenshawe and Aberdeen. A small team will be based onsite at Enterprise's London and Aberdeen offices to handle problems that cannot be dealt with remotely. The contract is for an initial period of 5 years and covers such services as desktop support, networks, email, video conferencing, and technology planning. Pierre Jungels, Chief Executive, commented: 'The signing of this agreement with SSI marks another step in the streamlining of Enterprise's business and the continuation of its cost reduction programme. IT services are now more effectively provided by a large specialist supplier. Outsourcing should provide Enterprise with access to the latest technologies with minimum support overheads.'
