Repurchase of Shares

Enterprise Oil plc announces that on 11 September 2001 it purchased for 
cancellation 150,000 ordinary shares from Hoare Govett's affiliate, ABN AMRO 
Equities (UK) Limited, at a price of 562.65p per ordinary share.
