The Trustee of the Enterprise Oil Employee Worldwide Benefit Trust notified us
today of two purchases on 28 April 2000 of a total of 1,570,016 ordinary
shares in the capital of the company at an average price of 477.96 pence each.

The Directors, A R Armour, I G Craig, Sir Graham Hearne, P H Jungels, A B
Shilston and K P Watts have a potential interest in these transactions.
