NOTIFICATION UNDER PARAGRAPH 16.13(c) OF THE LISTING RULES

We have today been notified by the Trustee of the Enterprise Oil Employee
Worldwide Benefit Trust of a purchase on 14 April 2000 of 282,673 ordinary
shares in the capital of the company at a price of 405.1488 pence each, in
which the Directors, A R Armour, I G Craig, Sir Graham Hearne, P H Jungels, A
B Shilston and K P Watts have a potential interest.
