SHARE OPTION EXERCISES BY EMPLOYEES

We have today been notified by the Trustee of the Enterprise Oil Employee
Worldwide Benefit Trust, of a transfer out of the trust of 60,805 ordinary
shares in the capital of the company following the exercise of share options
by employees.  7,667 of the ordinary shares were sold in the market on 12
October 2000 at a price of 588.5 pence per share. The remaining 53,138
ordinary shares were sold today at a price of 594 pence per share.

The Directors, A R Armour, I G Craig, Sir Graham Hearne, P H Jungels, A B
Shilston and K P Watts, as holders of share options, have a potential interest
in the shares held by the trust.
