                        DIRECTORS' INTERESTS IN SHARES

Following the appointment of Mr P J Taylor as Group Operations Director and
as an executive member of the Board of Eleco plc, an award over 125,000 
ordinary 10p shares in the Company was made on 20 July 2000 to Mr Taylor
under the Company's Long Term Incentive Plan. The shares will vest after
a three-year qualifying period subject to the attainment of a performance
requirement.

The Company has been informed of a purchase on 21 July 2000 of 100,000
Ordinary 10p Shares in the Company at 26 pence per share, in which 
Mr J H B Ketteley, a director of the Company, is interested.

The respective interests of Mr Ketteley and Mr Taylor in the Company's 
Ordinary Shares now stand as follows:
